Adsense Knocked Down
Evidence of a new Google Bombing using
sophisicated albeit dirty methods have snatched the top search spot
from Google's very own Adsense program. As you can see from the
image snippet below the new number one spot has been taken by concerted
effort. It could mean one damaging escapade for Google, these flaws
have been widely known for months and Googles efficiency has been
slow to stop these loopholes. Google may not suffer financially
but their reputation has just taken another blow.
Google Bombing is nothing new and has
been going on since near the beginning of google's popularity. It's
usually the result of a proven loophole in Googles algorithm whereby
Google bases assumptions on a websites content because of the anchor
text of websites that link to it. Another few such exploits are
demonstrated by searching Google for Honest Resume, French Military
Victories and Anti-War Peace Protestors. Other various means of
defeating the Google algorithm require a bit more technical trickery
and Google usually remedies the situation, this loophole on the
other hand has taken root for many months. Google is only fuelling
webmaster speculation about it's viability by not dealing with these
issues quickly.
