Click Fraud
What is Click
Fraud and how can i stop it?
On a basic level, Click Fraud is when someone clicks on an advertiser's
PPC advertisement with the intent to drain the advertiser's PPC
account. Lets provide a simple example to show the growing concern
of Click Fraud.
Let's say that you have a keyword bid of $1 related
to your PPC account, each time someone clicks on your campaign,
you will be charged $1 for each click. If you have $2,000 in your
account, this of course would mean that you are allowed 2,000 clicks
before your PPC account is removed from the search results. If for
any reason someone decided to attack your account using click fraud,
they would purposely implement ways to drain your account funds,
this could be done in days, weeks or months, no matter what the
time scale, this results in an extremely bad Return On Investment.
Let's be honest here, there isn't really a way we
can stop click fraud, neither can we stop credit card fraud, however,
we can certainly try and prevent it. I'm going to talk about Adwatcher
below and point out a few features which will help you prevent click
fraud.
What is Adwatcher and how
can it help?
